A hand-operated water pump, likely drawing from a well or cistern, remains standing on a concrete pad outside the kitchen.

Lulu Elizabeth
Lulu was born on a nearby farm, one of a set of twins. Her mama cared for her brother, but not Lulu. We needed a cow (?), she needed a farm, so I threw her in the backseat of the pickup and the rest is history. Lulu identifies as a horse, and they are no match for her when it comes to food. She is very sweet and affectionate.

The hooves of horses
oh witching and sweet
The music earth steals
from their iron shod feet.
No whisper of lover,
No trilling of bird,
Can stir me as hooves
of horses have stirred.
